Painting Trends
When it comes to pain, people go with the usual white color. But, white can be pretty bland, it’s hard to keep clean, and it gets pretty old pretty quick. People also tend to think that white makes a room look larger, when really it can make it seem smaller because it’s like one large white box of nothingness. If you want to add a little color or pop to a room, there are two things to consider. First off, color trends. Color trends are the colors for that specific year which decorators and interior designers are considering to be the most popular for that year. For the past FOUR years the color has been gray, so this might be a cool color to consider for your home. If you don’t like gray, another option to consider is painting ONE wall. These are called accent walls. It allows you to include paint in the room, but it’s cheaper because it only includes one wall, and it makes the room look less boxy.
Storage
Chances are if you have a living room like I do, you have a lot of dads, blue-rays, video games, and other things like exercise equipment such as dumb bells, you have extra chairs for when you have a lot of family over and you probably also tend to have a lot of things you need to store like remote controls and equipment when not in use, especially DVD, VCR or video game consoles. Instead of leaving all of this stuff out and making it look cluttered or messy, you should consider storage space. Storage space can be used in a few really brilliant ways that makes the living room look well organized, but it also is functional as well. One thing to consider is a shelving unit. These shelving units can be anchored right into the wall and they can openly store a lot of movies and video games. Another option to consider is tables that have a double feature. The top can be used as any table, but the table can actually slide apart or lift up to reveal a hidden little hideaway to keep extra things in it. You can also consider buying one of those remote control holders; these usually hang over the arm of the chairs and can hold a variety of remote controls.
