Bathroom Design Trends
Bathroom Design for Women
When asked what rooms they use the most, most homeowners say two rooms; the kitchen and the bathroom. Kitchens for the obvious reason. But, bathrooms might seem like a surprising answer. I think this is because these days more and more people use their bathrooms for more than just a place to shower, brush their teeth and do their business. These days, bathroom are used for relaxation; to unwind from the day and daily stresses. People are also spending more time in their bathrooms because more options are available in terms of decor and functional products. Or perhaps maybe more products are available because more people WANT to spend time relaxing in their bathrooms! Either way, if you are looking for the latest bathroom remodeling trends there are a few products and ideas you are going to want to consider along the way to really make the bathroom of your dreams! Take a look below at some of the ideas and products, and hopefully it will inspire you to building the bathroom you’ve always wanted.
Tub Vs Showers
A lot of "people" seem to have split answers about what is most important in the bathroom; a shower or a tub. It’s the reason why most bathrooms have both a shower and a tub. But, these days in terms of trending, bathtubs, especially freestanding tubs and old antique claw foot tubs, are becoming more and more popular. These not only help create a sense of style, but they are allowing you to save room for more important things besides a giant shower enclosure such as more closet space for storage, his and her sinks and counters, custom counters and vanities and much more. Frankly, if you have the space, I would say get a tub and a shower, but it’s really going to depend on you and your lifestyle as a human. Do you need quick ways to get clean? You probably want a shower. Do you want custom water features like how hot the water is, and how soft or hard it comes down? Showers offer all of these features and so much more. On the other hand, if you have a stressful job and you like to unwind in a place where you can just light a few candles and relax, a tub might be the better option for you. Either way, do yourself a favor and look at the different tubs available - sizes, shapes, colors, materials, etc. As well as the different shower options like shower enclosures, materials for the shower, types of showers, designs in the enclosure and more.
Custom Vanities
It used to be when you went to the store looking for vanities, you could only find ones that were pre-built and pre-designed. But, if you have some extra cash, I would really suggest looking for a wood builder that offers custom vanities. Vanities are the part underneath the countertops in your bathroom. They are the foundation for your sinks, but they also serve another function; they are the places where you keep a lot of storage items like shampoos, towels and washcloths, things for the tub like bath salts and body rubs and more. Sure, a plain old vanity is fine, if that’s what your budget can buy you. But, why not buy a custom one with the wood or materials you want, in the color you love, with the space you need, with the hardware you want? You can choose from a variety of materials; wood is the most commonly used, but you can choose from all sorts of woods. You can choose from, metal hardware on the vanities like knobs and panels. You can even choose from how many cabinets you want to store things in, how many drawers you want functional and decorative and so much more!
Themes and Colors
Many people choose themes for their bathrooms just because it’s easier. There are sort of pre-picked colors out there already waiting for you when it comes to a theme. Some people like this because it means they don’t have to get stressed or anxious over picking colors. It’s really just the safe way. For example, say you choose the beach theme. Chances are you are going to have beach colors like green for the grass, blue for the sky and water and some sort of a brown or tan color for the sand. These are safe colors. On the other hand, if you want to get wild, wacky or bold, you might want to throw your safety net out the window and consider doing your own color theme. The theme can include just paint or it can include an overall feel and look of the entire room from the tiles on the floor to the toilets and countertops to the ceiling and more. Just remember this: Always do what you are most comfortable with and like the best. If reds are in and you hate reds, don’t use red! If lighthouses are popular for wall murals and you think wall murals or lighthouses are tacky - don’t do it! Do what you love!
